Plywood is made by gluing together sheets of wood face veneer and core veneer. The bonding process requires low moisture, so the green veneer needs to be dried first. Conventional in-line veneer dryers are expensive to build and operate, use large amounts of energy, take up a great deal of space, and generate air pollutants that require expensive abatement equipment. The Shine Roller Veneer Dryers significantly reduce these problems.
The Shine Veneer Dryer was developed for drying veneer sheets used in making plywood. It causes little damage to the veneer, making it highly suitable for drying hardwood and softwood veneers for paneling and furniture.
Shine veneer dryers run without thermal oil or steam. It uses tree barks from debarker, waste veneer from peeling machine in wet condition as the fuel for the biomass burner. All these tree barks, waste veneer are put into a crusher or chipper and then loaded into the biomass burner even in wet condition. The burner can burn all kinds of waste wood chips, waste veneer chips, other rind directly to generate hot air to dry the green veneers. The fuel cost is the lowest compared to the steam, oil, gas or electrictity. And energy efficiency is very high as a result of direct heating instead of indirect heating of steam, oil.
