China has signed 12 projects in the Russian border city of Suifenhe, with a total investment of 710 million yuan. These projects cover traditional and emerging industries, and will seek development by relying on the city's cross-border trade advantages, so as to optimize the import and export commodity structure of Suifenhe free trade area and promote the development of multiple categories of international trade.

Suifenhe is not only an important window for Northeast China to open to the outside world and participate in international division of labor, but also an important node city to undertake the two strategies of revitalizing northeast China and developing the Far East by Russia. In 2019, Suifenhe area of China (Heilongjiang) pilot free trade zone was established, injecting new vitality into the development of Suifenhe foreign trade.

Since the beginning of 2021, Suifenhe has focused on "four multipliers" of trade volume, number of projects, investment volume and market players. In the first half of 2021, the total import and export volume of Suifenhe foreign trade reached RMB 7.669 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.5%, 1.1 percentage points faster than that of Heilongjiang Province.

In the first month of the second half of 2021, Suifenhe signed 12 projects, covering 7 headquarters economic projects such as energy, wood processing and hazardous chemicals management, 4 industrial projects such as auto parts processing, wood processing and frozen aquatic products processing, and 1 financial service project, which will seek development by taking advantage of the east wind of Suifenhe free trade area.

Among them, wood processing superimposes the dual advantages of the city's "century port" and "capital of wood industry". The main bulk imported goods at Suifenhe port are timber. In recent years, the city has made every effort to build a 10 billion wood processing industry cluster and built a Sino Russian wood processing trading center.
